Andriena Marroquin signs her contract to play STUNT at the university level with proud parents Tomasa and Ernesto looking on.

GALT, CA (MPG) - Galt High School’s Andriena Marroquin is taking her athletic career to the next level after signing to compete in STUNT at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.

Marroquin, who cheered and competed in STUNT at Galt High School, will continue her career at a private Nazarene university that competes in NCAA Division II athletics. Northwest Nazarene’s athletic programs are members of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, also known as the GNAC. The university announced the addition of STUNT as its 16th intercollegiate varsity sport in June 2024, with the Nighthawks’ STUNT program set to begin competition during the 2025-26 academic year.

For Marroquin, the opportunity means continuing to use the skills she developed through cheer and STUNT at Galt while competing at the collegiate level.

Adding to the excitement, Marroquin will not be making the journey to Idaho alone. Her cousin, Carina Escobar, also signed a scholarship to compete in STUNT at Northwest Nazarene. The two cousins are excited to be heading so far out of state together while beginning a new chapter as college student-athletes.

For Marroquin, signing with Northwest Nazarene represents years of work, dedication and commitment to her sport. It also gives her the chance to be part of a young and growing STUNT program as the Nighthawks begin building their identity in the sport.

As she prepares for college, Marroquin leaves Galt High with the pride of representing her school in cheer and STUNT and now carries that experience forward to Northwest Nazarene. Her signing marks an important milestone for her, her family and the Galt athletics community.

Congratulations to Andriena Marroquin on signing with Northwest Nazarene University and continuing her STUNT career at the next level.
