GALT, CA (MPG) - Liberty Ranch High School standout Mikina McCreery will continue her athletic and academic career at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she has signed to compete with the university’s Division I STUNT program and pursue a degree in public health.

McCreery leaves behind an exceptional legacy at Liberty Ranch, where she competed in STUNT for four years and helped lead the program to league championships in all four seasons. Her impact on the mat was equally impressive on an individual level, as she was named league MVP three times, an unprecedented achievement that reflects her consistency, leadership and elite level of performance throughout her high school career.

A talented main base and tumbler, McCreery has been a key part of Liberty Ranch’s success. Her strength, technique and competitive drive helped set the standard for the program, while her experience and leadership made her a valuable teammate during one of the most successful stretches in school history.

When asked why she chose Cal Poly, McCreery said the decision came down to both athletics and lifestyle.

“I chose Cal Poly because they have a Division I STUNT program, and I want to live by the beach,” McCreery said.

In addition to competing at the collegiate level, McCreery plans to major in public health. She said she is grateful for the opportunity to continue doing what she loves while taking the next step in her education.

“I am so excited and honored,” McCreery said. “I loved my time here at Liberty and want to thank my family and friends for everything they’ve done for me, and of course Coach Barbara Welch.”
McCreery’s signing marks an exciting next chapter for both the athlete and the Liberty Ranch STUNT program.

After four years of league titles, three MVP honors and countless contributions as a main base and tumbler, she now takes her talents to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and the growing stage of collegiate STUNT.
