GALT, CA (MPG) - Liberty Ranch High School STUNT athlete Ava Ramos will continue her athletic and academic career at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she will join the university’s STUNT program and pursue her goal of becoming a teacher.

Ramos, a side base for Liberty Ranch, has been part of a successful STUNT program known for developing athletes who are prepared to compete at the next level. Her commitment to Cal Poly is a major accomplishment, not only athletically but academically as well. 

With Cal Poly’s highly competitive 28% acceptance rate, earning the opportunity to be recruited to an athletic team reflects the strong grades, dedication and work ethic required to succeed both in the classroom and in competition.

When asked why she chose Cal Poly, Ramos said the school and the team both felt like the right fit.

“I picked Cal Poly because I like the school, and I like the STUNT team,” Ramos said. “I think it will be a great experience going there.”

Ramos plans to major in liberal studies with the goal of becoming a teacher. Her decision reflects not only her academic focus, but also her desire to make a positive impact beyond athletics.

As she prepares for this exciting next chapter, Ramos said she is grateful for the people who have supported and encouraged her along the way.

“I would like to thank my parents and family for all their support, and Coach Barbara Welch for believing in me,” Ramos said.

Ava Ramos’ move from Liberty Ranch STUNT to Cal Poly marks an exciting step forward in her journey. 

As she prepares to compete at the collegiate level and work toward a future in education, she carries with her the support of her family, coaches, teammates and the Liberty Ranch community.
