GALT, CA (MPG) - As high school graduation season wraps up and thousands of local teens prepare to pack for college, one 17-year-old Galt resident is already launching her professional career.
Kaydence “Kady” Farnsworth has reached a rare milestone, earning her California cosmetology license at just 17 and a half years old: the earliest age permitted by state law.
While many of her peers spent the last year navigating their senior year of high school, Kady’s fast-tracked journey was already well underway. She graduated early from SAVA Charter School in May 2025 at age 16 and immediately transitioned into professional training at Paul Mitchell The School in Sacramento.
Displaying immense discipline and work ethic, she completed her rigorous technical hours by March and passed the state board exam to secure her professional licensure in April.

Instead of waiting for a future college degree to start her career, Kady is already open for business. She is bringing her specialized talents back to the local community, focusing on high-demand, modern beauty trends including lived-in hair color techniques and precision gel and Gel-X manicures.
Kady is officially accepting clients at The Hive Salon & Spa, located across from the Galt Post Office (the site formerly known as Rustic Grace Salon).
As a new wave of students steps into the next chapter of their lives, community members are encouraged to support this driven young entrepreneur. Clients can book an appointment with her inside the salon or view her professional portfolio on Instagram at @beautyritual.kady.
