GALT, CA (MPG) - Over the next year, Galt Police Department officers will have the option of wearing a commemorative badge in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary.

The design pays tribute to two important pieces of our history. The seven-point star is a nod to the Galt Police Department’s heritage, honoring the badge worn by those who served this community before us. Combined with patriotic elements commemorating our nation’s 250th birthday, the badge reflects both our department’s proud legacy and the country we are honored to protect.

Officers may choose to wear either our traditional shield or this commemorative badge throughout the anniversary year. Regardless of which badge they choose, the mission remains the same: serving our community with integrity, professionalism and pride.

As we celebrate 250 years of the United States, we’re proud to honor where we’ve come from while continuing our commitment to those we serve.
