GALT, CA (MPG) - Residents will have the opportunity to connect with neighbors, law enforcement officers and local organizations when National Night Out returns to Galt on Aug. 4.

Hosted by the Galt Police Department, the free community event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at three locations in Galt: 1000 Walnut Ave.; Meadowview Park, 1128 Meadowview Drive; and the Galt Sports Complex, 1022 Caroline Ave.

National Night Out, held annually on the first Tuesday in August, is a nationwide community-building event designed to strengthen relationships between residents, businesses, community organizations and law enforcement. Organizers say the event provides a welcoming environment for families to learn about local resources while getting to know the people and services that help support the community.

Attendees can enjoy free food, games, activities, giveaways, safety information and vendor booths at each location.

The event is supported by several community sponsors, including A-Z Foundation Group, Martin Brower, Max Muscle Galt and Galt Food Center.
