GALT, CA (MPG) - Liberty Ranch student Madison Pauley recently had the opportunity to share her FFA project, The FFA Way, with the larger Sacramento region, appearing on the Aug. 8 segment of “Good Day Sacramento.”

Pauley was inspired to create The FFA Way, an agricultural education podcast and media platform, because of her own experience in the program.

“The more involved I became, the more I realized how many people knew very little about agriculture or the opportunities available through FFA,” Pauley said.

Through the podcast and its social media platforms, Pauley shares information about agriculture, FFA, leadership, careers and the many opportunities within the industry.

“My goal is to help people understand that agriculture is much more than farming; it is a complex industry that affects everyone, and everyone deserves the opportunity to learn about it.”

Pauley hoped that by utilizing social media, she would be able teach others in her generation about agriculture. Without any prior background or knowledge in the podcast industry, Pauley set about researching how to create her platform before launching the podcast on Spotify and YouTube.

“Outside of the podcast episodes, I would post on Instagram and TikTok,” Pauley said. “Quickly The FFA Way became much more than a podcast; it became a continuously growing social media platform.”

This mission eventually led to an opportunity Pauley never imagined: being invited to share The FFA Way and her story on “Good Day Sacramento.”

“Being able to go from a small town like Galt to live television was surreal,” she said. “I am a student who started a podcast because I wanted more people to understand agriculture, and suddenly I was sitting in a television studio preparing to share that message with an audience across the Sacramento region. Looking around the studio, it was difficult not to think about how far the idea had come from where it started.”

Pauley said the opportunity to appear on “Good Day Sacramento” meant much more than just being on television.

“It showed me how far a young person’s idea can go when they are willing to pursue it, and it gave me an even bigger platform to advocate for agricultural education,” Pauley said.

“Not only that, but I feel so honored to have the opportunity to represent Liberty Ranch High School and the beautiful town of Galt. I know without their support, I would likely not have come as far as I have. I also want people to know that this is only the beginning of what I have planned.”
