GALT, CA (MPG) - Liberty Ranch flag football entered the season with a target on its back as the defending league champion, and the Hawks have answered by turning conference play into a formality. They are 5-0 in league play and, remarkably, have not allowed a single point – let alone a touchdown – in any league game this fall.

The scoreboards tell the story in blunt terms. Liberty Ranch dismantled Union Mine 69-0, handled Amador 35-0, ran past Argonaut 58-0 and closed out El Dorado 54-0. Games have been decided long before the final whistle, and the Hawks’ defense has refused to give an inch even after the outcome was settled.

Senior quarterback Kamrynn Blevins is the engine. She has thrown 33 touchdown passes while completing 62.4 percent of her attempts and posting a 109.9 quarterback rating. And she is dangerous enough with her legs to lead the team at 76.9 rushing yards per game with 10 rushing scores. Senior Savanna Garbarino complements her on the ground at 28.6 yards per game and leads the team with seven receiving touchdowns. Sophomore Amya Trujillo adds 24.2 rushing yards per game and three rushing touchdowns.

Through the air, junior Lexi Williams paces the receivers at 34.8 yards per game, with sophomore Gianna Farren right behind at 34.3 and six touchdown grabs. Freshman Caroline Herring has already carved out a role at 24.2 yards per game, and sophomore Ella Quaschnick has five receiving touchdowns. Sophomore Gianna Williams has passed for two touchdown.

The shutout streak belongs to a defense that hunts. Williams leads the way with 5.2 flag pulls per game, followed by sophomore Krinjeet Dhaliwal at 4.1 and sophomore Makenlee Robbins at 3.3. Dhaliwal has been the disruptor, recording five sacks and five flag pulls for loss. Trujillo and Blevins share the team lead with seven interceptions each. Williams has six.

With a deep, underclassman-heavy roster that includes Fatima Cabrera, Tenley Messersmith, Olive and Ruby Gorelick, and freshman Kate Blevins, the Hawks look built to defend their crown.
